bmibaby RBS 6 Nations flights

Flights proving popular with rugby fans in Wales

Rugby fans in Wales are taking advantage of bmibaby's unique flights from Cardiff Airport to Dublin for the RBS 6 Nations match: Wales v Ireland in March 2010.   The airline will offer five special flights to and from Dublin between 12 -14 March 2010, so rugby fans can watch Wales take on Ireland.  The flights are already over 70 per cent full with just under two months until the match.  This route has previously not been served by bmibaby and is a new addition to the current flying programme operating especially for the RBS 6 Nations match.

In 2009 bmibaby helped rugby fans travel from Cardiff to Edinburgh for the RBS 6 Nations tournament by adding extra services from the airport.  These flights proved hugely popular with fans, meaning a quick route to Murrayfields, rather than braving a seven hour drive on the M6.

Crawford Rix, managing director, bmibaby, said:

“We are delighted to be able to meet the extra demand for flights from rugby fans wishing to support Cardiff as they take on Ireland in the RBS 6 Nations Tournament.  We have three flights departing for Dublin prior to the match and we expect these to fill up fast.  For any fans who have not yet booked their seats there is still time as we currently have seats available.”
