passengers head for sun and ski destinations to escape bad weather
Low cost airline, bmibaby, is looking forward to a bumper Easter from East Midlands Airport, as passengers look to escape the heavy rain that has been forecast for this weekend.
bmibaby expects to carry over 12,000 passengers this weekend to and from East Midlands Airport, as people look to make the most of the remaining ski season or escape the rain and enjoy some spring sunshine. The most popular destinations for travel this weekend from the airport are Paris, Geneva and Palma.
Julian Carr, managing director, bmibaby, said:
“We are looking forward to a busy Easter weekend from East Midlands Airport, as people make the most of the four day break and jet away.
“Geneva is the top destination for bmibaby this weekend as people head to the slopes to enjoy the late ski season. Palma is also proving popular as people fly to Majorca to enjoy the sunshine and with temperatures reaching twenty degrees it will certainly be warmer than here!
“Paris is also a big hit from East Midlands Airport this weekend with people looking for a city break or families taking advantage of Paris - Charles de Gaulle Airport’s proximity to Euro Disney.”
