We are currently updating our website so it is fully accessible to all customers.
We commissioned a report from the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) and received the results of the audit in November 2011 in which the RNIB detailed what we needed to do on our website.
We have a project team in place to action the recommendations which requires the bespoke development of bmibaby’s website technology. This inevitably takes a period of time to develop but in the meantime we have implemented the following:
- A new local rate telephone number for you to call to speak to our call centre to obtain our discounted website fares: 0845 1238951
- We have created this accessibility page on bmibaby.com to keep you up to date with our progress, please check this page for future updates
Update - 20 April 2012
Updates have now been completed for the booking journey on the website with the following developments:
- The calendar control has now been updated
- The booking engine has been updated in order for screen readers to work more effectively
- We have improved the search results page in order to make it easier for keyboard users to book a flight
- The car hire screen has now been updated
- The booking process as a whole has been revised to enhance usability for customers using screen reader software
